Established in 1972 and still going strong to this day, Margaret Howell has been a constant but understated presence on the British design scene. Always classic but with a fresh take on staples such as shirts and trenches, she is by far one of my favourite designers and if I could afford to do so I'd live and die in her stuff. When filming 'The Shining' Jack Nicholson insisted on wearing his own Margaret Howell corduroy jacket resulting in Stanley Kubrick ordering 12 replicas.
